Access Statistics

In brief

Access statistics summarize all website traffic data and are the foundation of every SEO analysis and content optimization.

What Are Access Statistics?

Whoever regularly reviews their access statistics identifies ranking losses and technical problems before they cause real damage. Always compare year-over-year to correctly account for seasonal effects. The most important metrics at a glance: organic traffic, top entry pages, conversion rate, and bounce rate — everything else is secondary at first.

Access statistics (or traffic statistics) is a summary of all data about website visits: how many people visit your website, where they come from, how long they stay, which pages they view, and what actions they take. Access statistics are the foundation of SEO analysis and content optimization — without data, you don’t know whether your SEO measures are working. Modern access statistics are provided by Google Analytics, Matomo, or similar tools.

Technically, a tracking code (e.g., Google Analytics tag) collects data about each user: session duration, page views, time on page, search keywords (where visible), device type, location. All data is aggregated and presented as a dashboard. Access statistics can be filtered by many dimensions: country, device, channel (SEO, ads, direct, referral), target page, etc. Good access statistics show trends over time: are rankings and traffic rising? Are bounce rates falling?

In practice, you should review your access statistics regularly — at least monthly. Pay special attention to: organic traffic (SEO success), most important entry pages (keywords), session duration (content quality), and conversions (business success). Always compare year-over-year or quarter-over-quarter to account for seasonal effects. If traffic numbers drop, act quickly — it could signal a Google update, technical errors, or ranking losses. Good access statistics habits save you a lot of trouble.
