A high CER shows that the AI mention generated interest — the user wants to learn more about you, asks about prices, experiences, or specific services.
This metric is so valuable because it reflects the quality of the AI interaction. When someone asks “best SEO tool” and ChatGPT names five tools, the user will only follow up on one or two. The CER identifies which brands trigger that deeper engagement. It is therefore a strong indicator for the citation-to-conversion correlation — those who follow up are more likely to buy.
