What is Structured Data?

Structured Data refers to machine-readable data formats embedded in the HTML code of a website to communicate to search engines the context and meaning of content. The international standard for this is Schema.org, a vocabulary with hundreds of entity types like Product, Article, FAQPage, LocalBusiness, or Event. By implementing Structured Data on your website, you enable Google and other search engines to interpret your content more precisely.

Google’s preferred format for Structured Data is JSON-LD (JavaScript Object Notation for Linked Data).
